The bye weeks are over and it’s time for everyone to make their playoff push. There are two games that stand out this week and we’re providing them free for everyone. Let’s get to it…
Carolina -7½ vs Tampa Bay
The Panthers opened at -9½, but all the public money has gone to Tampa (72%) due to their recent play. The public is often wrong and this is one of those times. The Bucs are a team that couldn’t do anything right until their season was shot, without any pressure they are suddenly beating up on a few so-so teams. Well Carolina isn’t so-so… they’ve got eyes on an NFC Championship. When things get tough, we’ll see how the Bucco’s handle it.
This game is a simple handicap. The Panthers are a running team and there is no denying they’re playing well. Tampa has struggled stopping the run against much lesser opponents and they don’t have the physicality up front to compete for 4 quarters. Carolina’s run threat will open up play-action opportunities if they choose to use it. The Tampa offense has been playing well against the likes of Atlanta and Detroit, but Carolina will present a much more difficult challenge. Easy win for the Panthers.
NY Giants -2 at Washington
The Redskins are simply terrible defensively and their roster is very thin, leading to poor special teams play. The Giants are playing much better than earlier in the season and have solved some defensive problems particularly against the run – Washington’s strength.
Andre Brown should have a huge game against the Skins league worst rushing defense. Eli is very dangerous when he’s got a decent running threat to work with. The Giants aren’t dead yet but need this game desperately to have a chance. Pick: Giants.
Good luck. Let’s win them all.
