Browns -4 over Bills
by Doug Harper – What’s going on in Cleveland? They’ve won two in a row after trading away one of their best players, which many thought was giving up on the season. I’m not sure if Hoyer is a player or not, but he’s getting it done right now. Jordan Cameron looks like a pro-bowler and Josh Gordon has is very dangerous. That’s all good, but don’t overlook a defense that’s played solidly against a couple of very good teams.
Buffalo is a very hard team to get a grip on. Obviously you give them credit for 5 INTs last week, but that won’t happen often & they needed every single one to pull off the win. If Spiller or Jackson were healthy I’d give them a nice advantage in the running game – they’re not. It’s hard to travel on a short week especially to a team that’s on top of the world like Cleveland. Pick: Browns.
Total Tackles & Assists – Kiko Alonso (BUF) over 8: Tonight’s best bet. A lot of people have never heard of Kiko, but he’s making tons of plays for the Bills D. He’ll see more than enough tackle opportunities tonight with some responsibility for Cameron & the lack of tacklers in the Bills pass coverage unit. I suspect the Browns can convert 3rd downs and dominate time of possession. If Alonso stays on the field he’ll hit double digits easy.
Total Tackles & Assists – TJ Ward (BUF) under 5: We could see a nice price on the under for Ward tonight. Sure he’s a very good safety, but here’s the deal… Tackle props are about opportunity and Ward may not see many tonight. I think Cleveland dominates the time of possession and that means less snaps for Ward, who’ll also have to compete with D’Qwell for stats (D’Qwell wins that one).
